Job Description

About this position

The burial history of geothermal reservoirs is key for predicting reservoir quality. In this internship different maximum burial data and models are compared and integrated to come up with a best estimate of the maximum burial depth of reservoirs in the Dutch subsurface.

Reservoir quality of (geothermal) reservoirs is strongly determined by its porosity. The porosity is usually dependent on the amount of compaction that the reservoir has undergone. To predict the porosity of a reservoir it is therefore important to know its maximum burial depth. This internship project aims to integrate different maximum burial depth models to get a better understanding of the maximum burial depth of reservoirs in the Dutch subsurface. During a previous internship maximum burial depths were estimated from sonic logs. In this internship you will compare the results from the previous internship with existing burial models to try to come up with a best es...
