Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team. Global Corporate Controllers & Planning (GCCP) is responsible for the financial and regulatory reporting of the consolidated Firm and its legal entities, accounting & regulatory policy and advisory, and managing the Finance risk and change programs. Institutional Securities Group Finance (ISGF) ensures accuracy of the business units books and records, provides management reporting and analytics to the business units management teams, including budgeting, forecasting and profitability. Corporate Treasury provides corporate finance advisory services to senior management and internal business units. It also optimizes the Firm's liquidity and capital base, manages the Firm's foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, and coordinates relationships with regulators, rating agencies, and creditors. Tax Department is responsible for global tax compliance (both corporate and indirect taxes), managing tax audits and relationships with global tax authorities, tax accounting, business unit trusted advisor on tax matters and tax planning for the Firm.
