Intern – Detail Design Mechanical

Assists the Mechanical and Piping design team on new construction projects at Seaspan Shipyards. Under the direction of the Manager, Mechanical Detail Design, the Intern will work on all design phases of new construction projects, developing and delivering discipline‑specific 3D model and production information drawings, taking technically feasible integration decisions, and collaborating with the design and engineering teams to resolve design issues.

What You’ll Do

• Create and update the 3D design model content in assigned areas of Mechanical and Piping design within the project schedule and budget, in line with design input documents, class society rules, flag rules, and company standards.
• Develop design drawings for icebreaking, naval replenishment and other vessels to achieve customer approval and compliance with Classification Society and flag regulations.
