Job Description
Summary
The Inspector is responsible for performing inspection work in petroleum and petrochemical terminals, refineries, and aboard ships and barges. The role involves quantification, sampling, and supervision of petroleum products, chemical goods, and lubricating oils in accordance with industry standards and guidelines established by API and Saybolt.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Measure and quantify liquid crude oil, petroleum products, chemical goods, and lubricating oils based on ship measurements.
- Determine the quantity of goods using draft surveys.
- Assess the amount of oil residues, petroleum products, chemical goods, and lubricating oils remaining on a vessel after discharge.
- Measure and verify the quantity of goods in shore tanks.
- Conduct bunker surveys to determine the amount of fuel on board and collect bunker fuel samples.
- Determine the quantity of goods in rail tank cars and tank containers.
