Job Description
Banyan invites applications for the Director of Legal in Mergers & Acquisitions, based in Toronto, ON. This hybrid role allows you to lead deal execution and provide critical legal support across the acquisition lifecycle.
As part of a growing legal team supporting a vibrant M&A practice, you will engage in due diligence, negotiate contracts, and assist portfolio companies with operational legal needs. This position requires 5 to 7 years of relevant legal experience, primarily focused on M&A transactions and technology issues. You will evolve into a leadership role in Banyan's verticalized legal structure as it expands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage due diligence for M&A transactions, focusing on risks
• Draft, negotiate, and finalize purchase agreements
• Foster relationships with external legal advisors
• Partner with M&A Directors for timely transaction completion
• Support portfolio companies on varied legal matters
