HP101 SOHO Science Operations Coordinator

We are seeking an individual who will serve as the SOHO Science Operations Coordinator, supporting the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) Experimenter’s Operation Facility (EOF) on-site at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.

Duties include:

Supporting instrument science planning and commanding

Monitoring instrument health and safety

Overseeing data production processing

Providing general backup support to the instrument team.

The position is 30 hours per week, fully on-site, and is ideally suited for a college undergraduate who is interested in, and able to take on the responsibilities required to obtain, hands-on experience supporting an operating NASA space mission.

We are seeking a candidate who is a fast learner, a problem-solver, and a reliable team-player who can also be trusted to work independently. Previous experience working in a spacecraft operations environment is a strong plus.
