Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Drifter/Drill Repair)
SMS Equipment is expanding our underground operations, and we’re hiring a Journeyperson, Heavy Duty Mechanic for Edmonton, AB. This role focuses on component rebuilds and rockdrill diagnostics in a clean, well-equipped shop environment.
Base Wage : $54.02 per hour
Location : Edmonton, AB
Schedule : 5x2 (Monday to Friday).
What You’ll Do
- Perform full overhauls, diagnostics, and repairs on underground drifters—primarily Montabert and will also work with Sandvik and Epiroc.
- Use measuring tools and precision equipment to assess wear, tolerances, and overall equipment condition.
- Diagnose malfunctions using proper testing equipment and provide recommendations based on repair needs.
- Support underground operations by troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on mobile and stationary mining equipment.
