Role Overview – Head Coach Throws

The Throws Coach is responsible for the planning, delivery, and development of Singapore Athletics’ throws programme, spanning the full athlete pathway from talent identification to high performance.

The role focuses on building technical consistency, physical robustness, and long-term athlete development across shot put, discus, hammer and/or javelin. The coach is expected to operate within a structured high-performance system, aligned with national performance objectives and international benchmarks.

Skills & Competencies Technical & Coaching Skills

• High-level technical understanding of throws biomechanics (shot put, discus, hammer and/or javelin)
• Ability to teach and correct complex movement patterns clearly and consistently
