Groundsperson

School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is currently accepting applications for the position of Groundsperson. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 8 months per year (layoff period: November - March). After successful completion of the probationary period, the incumbent will be eligible for extended health and dental benefits, as well as group life insurance. School District No. 73 belongs to the Municipal Pension Plan.

Typical Duties

• Duties involve a variety of tasks including the safe operation and maintenance of grass cutting or power equipment.
• Performs minor equipment repairs as required.
• Other duties include assisting in the care of flowers, trees and grass, as well as with the installation of sprinkler systems and fence repair.
• Performs labour intensive duties on a regular basis.
• Other assigned job related duties.
• May perform duties of Equipment Operator.
