Job Description
We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (EIT) to support a large-scale, FEMA-funded sewer system replacement program in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This field-based role involves continuous drill rig monitoring and real-time soil stratification for deep sewer installations along existing roadways. The engineer will be stationed full-time at the drill rig to ensure accurate subsurface characterization and sampling.
Responsibilities
+ Be stationed full-time at an active drill rig (5 days/week, 6-8 hr days).
+ Monitor drilling operations continuously.
+ Stratify soils in real time as cuttings are produced.
+ Identify and log soil changes by depth.
+ Observe groundwater conditions and note anomalies.
+ Ensure borings reach required depths (~20 ft).
+ Act as the engineer-in-charge at the rig, not a passive observer.
