Job Description
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading, stacking, and picking of goods within the cold storage facility, including the freezer, chiller, and dry storage areas. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, temperature guidelines, and inventory management procedures to ensure product integrity and operational efficiency. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in maintaining the flow of goods, minimizing damage, and supporting accurate inventory records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g. reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently in confined spaces and cold environments.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of the forklift (e.g. battery charge, controls, brakes, tires) and report any mechanical issues immediately.
