**Job Description**
The Forklift Operator (Afternoon Shift) safely and efficiently loads and unloads a wide variety of freight from trailers and containers using a propane sit-down counterbalance (SDCB) forklift in a busy cross-dock environment. This role requires strong forklift skills in tight quarters, accurate handling of shipping documentation, and the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high standard of safety and attention to detail.
**Responsibilities**
Operate a propane sit-down counterbalance (SDCB) forklift for approximately 80% of the shift to load and unload freight from trailers and containers.
Handle a wide variety of freight types and sizes, including small parcels to large, heavy, and irregularly shaped items, ensuring safe and secure movement at all times.
Work efficiently in tight quarters, turning tight corners and maneuvering around a busy dock while maintaining safe operating practices.
