We have an opening for a Facility Electrical Design Engineer, System Manager role. This work will take place on NIF and NIF support facilities within the National Ignition Facility & Photon Science (NIF&PS) Directorate, home to the world’s most energetic laser. It is an exciting time to join the team that achieved fusion ignition in December 2022 (as well as multiple subsequent times), a historic moment in science, opening up new physics regimes and setting the stage for new fusion energy possibilities.
You will be working closely with a team of project managers, engineers, designers, and technicians engaged in facilities projects and mission critical maintenance and operations of systems supporting NIF. You will also contribute to the design and development of new system upgrades to continually improve system performance and reliability.
