The primary purpose of this position is to provide emergency police, fire, and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment, to various emergency situations, such as structure fires, aircraft crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous materials spills, auto accidents, trench collapses, and confined space entrapment. Responsibilities Provide emergency 911-call taking and communication services while serving as primary call taker for certified Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) or Enhanced 911 system. Determine the nature of the emergency by caller interrogation and prioritizes all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
