**Job Description:**
This position performs non-invasive cardiac EKG diagnostic tests and edits EKG's. The incumbent also performs all duties of the “EKG Technician.”
**Essential Functions**
+ Perform exams per department protocol and demonstrate EKG competency.
+ Complete studies within accepted time limits without compromising patient care or the quality of the exam.
+ Complete orders and charge entry timely and accurately.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of how to proficiently use the department’s equipment; Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and report any variance from normal that may impact function.
+ Schedule and prioritize exams added on throughout the day.
+ Notify physician if critical values are identified during the test.
+ Ensure proper patient identification by using two patient identifiers and review patient chart to confirm correct procedure order, prior to performing.
