Major Responsibilities:
- Participates as an integral part of the educational team by:
- providing communication access between students and staff members who are deaf or hard of hearing and others;
- offering feedback and insight concerning the appropriateness and effectiveness of interpreting services;
- collaborating with teachers with respect to communication strategies, and
- providing effective and quality support to the learning needs of students.
- Provides interpretation between spoken English and the language or mode of communication used by students and staff members who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Serves as a resource to teachers, Education Assistants and students with regards to ASL vocabulary and concepts when required.
