Summary About the Position: As a Dredge Equipment Operator assigned to the Dredge Jadwin, the incumbent will be serve as a backup to the Equipment Operator. Observe the dredge's computerized positioning system, closed circuit television, and main dredge pump vacuum and pressure; manipulates electric hydraulic controls operate two winches to regulate advance of dredge. Responsibilities Enters information into computer program to determine cut length, alignment and new setups. This requires constant monitoring of the computer screen and the gauges and controls associated with the operation of the dredge pump and winches. Troubleshoot system and makes necessary adjustments or corrections to bring system back on line so the dredge can continue to work. Monitor the computer screen and the gauges and controls associated with the operation of the dredge pump and winches. Determine when suction head should be cleaned from readings on vacuum gages.
