Job Description

About the Position

Doctoral researcher/project researcher (Geology) at the Department of Geography and Geology, University of Turku. Fixed-term position 24 months, starting 1 September 2026 (or as agreed). The researcher will work on the FLORES project, funded by the Research Council of Finland, investigating the genetic link between Lithium–Cesium–Tantalum (LCT) pegmatites and orogenic gold systems, and modelling post‑orogenic hydrothermal fluids to understand bedrock evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Study LCT pegmatites and orogenic gold deposits in southern and western Finland.
  • Model hydrothermal processes using fluid‑inclusion studies and isotopic analyses.
  • Conduct fieldwork at selected study sites.
  • Carry out two research visits (1–3 months each) to RWTH Aachen University in Germany focusing on fluid‑inclusion analyses.
