About the role
The Director, Global Tax is responsible for managing Sun Life’s Global Minimum Tax (GMT) compliance and GMT-related planning and initiatives.
What you'll be doing
Ensure GMT compliance policies and procedures are aligned with OECD Pillar Two regulations and Canada’s Global Minimum Tax ActAssess Sun Life's exposure to GMT top-up taxes and filing obligations across all jurisdictions, including overseeing the filing of GMT returns globallyCoordinate with business units and finance teams to gather necessary data and documentationPerform tax research and technical analyses in developing Sun Life’s positions on GMT issues and assessing the GMT impact of specific transactions, in collaboration with the Global Tax Advisory team or external tax advisors where necessaryProvide guidance and training to stakeholders, including business units and management, on GMT requirements, significan...
