Purpose of the Role
The Data Centre Co-ordinator is responsible for the efficient maintenance, installation, decommissioning and coordination of all Interconnect Cabling, Power Distribution Units installations, Remote Hands and Smart Hands support within the Data Centre. The Data Centre Co-ordinator is responsible for all Ad-Hoc client support requirements.
Objectives & Main Functions of the Job
- Full installation & Decommissioning of communication cables in line with customer requirements (CAT5e, CAT6 and Fibre). This will include; installing, testing and labelling new cables, uploading test results and documenting cable routes within stipulated SLA turn around times
- Testing and troubleshooting cabling issues which will include CAT6, Singlemode & Multimode fibre cabling with appropriate testing instruments, i.e. OTDR, Power Meter, Light Source, Copper & Coax testers, etc
