Overview

TITLE: CROP SCOUT / FIELD TECHNICAN

LOCATION: BAKERSFIELD, CA

COMPENSATION: $20.00 / HOUR

PURPOSE:

Responsible for scouting insects, diseases, pests, weeds, and other observations in the field, and reporting issues identified to supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Scout for insects, crops diseases, pests, and weeds growing in the field.
  • Learn and become an expert on each of the categories mentioned.
  • Collect soil, tissue, and plant sample for analyses.
  • Locate and identify pests that may impact yield and growth.
  • Conduct root digs in order to look for root-eating pests.
  • Assist with identifying and potentially diagnosing crop diseases or pest infestation.
  • Report filed and crop conditions to PCAs and Agronomists.
  • Input data into AIMS and ensure accurate and timely entry of data.
