Job Description

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Coxswain to support unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and navigate boats and other watercraft.

  • Ensure the safety of passengers and crew onboard.

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the vessel.

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vessel readiness.

  • Adhere to maritime laws and regulations.

  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust plans accordingly.

  • Handle docking and mooring operations safely.

  • Operate and maintain navigation and communication equipment.

  • Coordinate with port authorities and other vessels.

  • Manage emergency situations and perform rescues if necessary.
