The Vehicle Material Cost Specialist (Cost Engineer) is responsible for creating, analyzing, and validating component material costs and targets. The cost engineer works in the PPCO / Product Program Cost Optimization team to generate ground‑up, detailed material cost estimates that encompass both piece price estimations and production tooling estimations. Collaboration with internal cross‑functional peers—including product engineering, purchasing and supply chain, vehicle program, global joint venture partners in China, and external component supply base—is essential.
