About the UnitThe Nu Me RI NII PET-CT Unit hosted by the Central Analytical Facilities (CAF) of Stellenbosch University (SU) at Tygerberg Hospital (TBH) in Cape Town, South Africa, undertakes clinical and research imaging across oncology, cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, and infectious diseases. A broad range of radiopharmaceuticals is used, many of them labelled on site in the Unit's own radiopharmacy. As an EARL-accredited PET-CT Centre of Excellence, the Unit produces harmonised, trial-grade quantitative imaging and supports national and international research collaborations.
The NII has a close working relationship with both TBH and with SU’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), through its Divisions of Nuclear Medicine and Radiodiagnosis.
