Job Description
Construction workers perform physical labor to build and maintain structures, and ensure safety on construction sites. They work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial buildings, public works, and industrial projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites: Clear debris, set up materials, and create trenches
- Operate machinery: Use diggers, concrete mixers, jackhammers, and drills
- Load and unload materials: Move construction materials, tools, and supplies
- Perform physical labor: Dig, lift, carry, and mix materials
- Install structures: Assemble scaffolding, bridges, and barricades
- Install systems: Help install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Follow safety guidelines: Ensure all work is done safely
- Maintain equipment: Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Assist other workers: Help carpenters, electricians, joiners, and roofers
