Job Summary

Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.

The Coding Manager is responsible for the coding and abstracting process functions of the department and related systems and reporting needs. The Coding Manager will oversee the assignment of appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures in accordance with all applicable coding guidelines, rules and regulations.

Example of Essential Functions:

Works with Coding Staff to ensure the timely and accurate coding and abstracting of inpatient and outpatient medical records.

Supervises and trains coding staff to ensure that the hospital receives appropriate reimbursement and conforms to applicable guidelines and regulations.
