Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist-Coding

The CDI primary role will audit inpatient and outpatient cases for DRG validation and/or documentation improvement opportunities using a unique approach that combines technology, coding, and clinical documentation auditing expertise. The position works directly with physicians, coders, and the CDI team to streamline processes, identify training needs, and ensure consistent information sharing. The role provides training as needed to meet quality and productivity standards and ensures compliance with coding/billing and charging regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medical records in inpatient and/or outpatient settings to accurately reflect severity of illness and facilitate proper coding.
• Improves documentation practices to reflect quality and outcome scores.
