Position Summary

:

Under the direction of the Major, the Captain is responsible for ensuring the overall safety, custody, and security of the incarcerated individual population, staff, visitors, and the public. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining facility-wide operations and security, and for supervising Sergeants and all security staff during shift operations.

  • Performs supervisory tasks in all aspects of the job, including instructing, assigning, and reviewing work, planning, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, allocating personnel, and making recommendations for transferring, promoting, and disciplining.
