Overview
3-month contract role with a local authority focused on administering and processing all aspects of Business Rates and BID Levy accounts. The position ensures accurate billing, recovery, enforcement, and account maintenance. It involves determining liability, assessing eligibility for reliefs and exemptions, and providing professional advice to customers and stakeholders. The role supports the effective collection of local taxation revenues, aiming to maximize income and reduce fraud.
Responsibilities
- Determine the correct liable person or organization for Business Rates and BID Levy accounts, ensuring timely issuance of all relevant notices.
- Administer Business Rates and BID Levy accounts from initial billing through to recovery and enforcement stages.
- Assess, process, and verify applications for Business Rates reliefs, discounts, and exemptions in accordance with legislation and Council policies.
