Overview
As a Bus Accessibility Support Officer, you will work within the Public Transport Department's Policy and Strategy team, supporting the delivery and implementation of a new Bus Network Accessibility Plan, a requirement of the new 2025 Bus Services Act.
Responsibilities
You will support the wider team with the formation of the plan, including co‑ordinating engagement with internal and external stakeholders, conducting surveys of bus operators, and assisting with the development of proposals and policy positions to align with the new Act. You will also support a range of public transport initiatives linked to accessibility, including the establishment of a bus stop asset survey and assisting with business support functions associated with the Council's Older and Disabled Persons Bus Pass Scheme (ENCTS).
