Overview

Purpose of Position: Lay out, fit and fabricate metal components. Assemble structural forms, such as construction of conveyors, platforms, structures, trolleys and any manufacturing according to drawings. Work involves using cutting torches, Tig, stick and Mig welding. Must have the ability to use any hand and power tools, read and use all measuring equipment, and read and work according to engineering drawings. Perform surface preparation prior to welding and construct jigs with close tolerances. Be able to construct, assemble, maintain and repair any structural forms according to blueprint or verbal instruction. Carry out inspection on any work performed. Development and fabrication are the main purposes of this position. Qualifications Grade 12 or N3. Boilermaker trade. 3-5 years’ experience as a qualified Boilermaker.
