Roles and Responsibilities
The Assistant Store Managerโs primary responsibility is to oversee the daily retail operations, ensure the highest standards of customer service, and direct those projects and responsibilities assigned and delegated by the General Manager. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Opening and closing of the store
2. Responsibility for safety and security as assigned
3. Knowledge of overall store policies, procedures and goals
4. Knowledge of management responsibilities and serve as back-up for General Manager, filling in for same as needed
5. Overseeing the tasks assigned and delegated to the various store staff members
6. Training of store personnel
7. Supervise in-store personnel to ensure optimum performance and customer service
8. Inventory maintenance
9. General housekeeping of store
