Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assembles and disassembles National Oilwell Varco proprietary and other proprietary oilfield equipment.
  • Reads a design drawing and assemble accordingly.
  • Perform Pressure Testing (Hydro, Gas) for Choke assemblies and Functional Testing to actuators as specified by company procedures.
  • Reading and filling traceability documents and testing charts.
  • Torques nut bolts, and cap screws by using torquing instruments and following torquing procedure and requirements.
  • Participates and identify root cause of assembly and testing failures.
  • Removes small quantities of metal with hand files, scrapers, grinders to produce close fit between parts.
  • Records instrument readings as required for test procedures or company requirements.
  • Disassembles various equipment for salvage of parts.
  • Reports any material discrepancies or material defects to area supervisor.
