Job Description

Summary

Assembles machinery components, such as operating cylinders, electric control cases, transmissions, clutches, and special tools, according to specifications by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Transports specified parts from storage to work area manually or by using overhead crane.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
  • Brushes lubricant on moving parts and fits parts together on bench, following blueprints.
  • Prepares and pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations.
  • Operates machine manually to perform nonautomated functions when machine malfunctions.
  • Discusses errors with supervisor to resolve problems.
  • Cleans machine, tooling, and parts.
