Job Description
- The ability to operate asphalt paver with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship is an asset.
- Lines paver appropriately to the work area and ensure proper application of the asphalt, smoothing it evenly to the desired height, width, and depth.
- Knowledge of the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of paver auger feed and automatic grade control systems.
- Operate paver and control asphalt to the paver safely and efficiently to mitigate mix segregation and support of screed personnel to maintain required asphalt thickness and smoothness requirements.
- Proper machine start-up, and shutdown knowledge/practices.
- Ability to operate paving related equipment.
- Ability to guide and direct dump trucks while backing up to machine hopper when operating paver.
- Inspects, cleans, repairs equipment, and maintains using machines’ hand tools and report malfunctions to foreman.
