Summary The incumbent is assigned to the office of geriatrics in extended care (GEC) at the VA Medical Center-Memphis. The AO serves multiple GEC programs as the coordinator, advisor, analyst and planner for the delivery of the health care services for the purpose of administrative coordination and GEC support. Responsibilities The AO has the principal responsibility to assist the Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care by fulfilling administrative duties. This allows the GEC chief to devote time to GEC initiatives, planning, personnel issues, overseeing clinical programs, program coordination and the academic aspects of this highly affiliated health care system. The AO applies specialized knowledge of health care management to the planning, organization and evaluation of the delivery of healthcare services to veterans.
