You will work closely with other business areas and have a key role in tax related strategic matters and help drive business value.How You’ll Make an ImpactProject and Business Support Maintains ongoing contact with management, and stakeholder of the respective functional area and with local authorities and consultants. Understands the business model structure of the Company and provides respective tax advice to the organization, while always ensuring compliance to tax legislation requirements and business model principles. Provides tax support for intra-country and/or cross border projects such as system applications, business model changes, divestitures/acquisitions etc. Liaises with other departments within the organization and provides consulting for other organizational units within the area of responsibility. Supports tax risk management by reviewing and assessing local tax risks and/or opportunities. Appropriately involves Tax managers and/or external advisors depending on the magnitude of the issue/opportunity. Tax Compliance Ensures Company tax guidelines/procedures are followed and proactively modified for updates. Supports timely and tax-optimized preparation of financial statements, in cooperation with Accounting Management, and ensures timely tax payments. Coordinates the preparation of tax returns, examines accounts. Calculates taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by required deadlines. Prepare the VAT refund files on quarterly basis. Cooperates with tax advisors in order to optimize tax burdens. May act as first accountable point of contact for tax authorities. Participates in all major decisions, e.g. acquisitions, divestitures, contracts and initiatives in the country, reviews business decisions with respect to taxation impact. Ensures auditing and controlling of Tax activities including reporting. Carries out tax compliance governance for direct tax, indirect tax and business model compliance and tax forecast matters. Participates in regular direct tax and indirect tax reviews during the preparation of external tax reporting packages. Participates in Fiscal Year-end CIT reporting preparations & reviews, including the review of CIT and Deferred Tax provision calculations. Develops understanding of and ultimately owns the tax policies/procedures and seeks continuous improvement. Tax advisory and reporting·Tax advisory on international level: Provide advisory on the possible tax implications of different restructuring or financial decisions and Monitoring developments in tax legislation.·Knowledge of relevant Tax Laws international and local: Supervision over the tax advisors supporting the entities in scope. Oversee the advisors’ work and provide ongoing support.·Managing International tax reporting such as CBCr, Pillar II, WHT recoverability, Etc.·Management of tax audits and controversies: Review and Management of the tax audits of the entities within Africa.
