Aboriginal and Islander Education Worker

Permanent/Ongoing Position Full Time Counselors, Social Workers, and Other Community and Social Service Specialists

KEY DUTIES

1. Provide classroom support to help ensure that Aboriginal & Islander students are able to work effectively in classrooms and on school programs

2. Maintain an effective liaison with parents/carers to help ensure that parents are able to be supportive of their children as students of the school

3. Maintain liaison with all people who provide support to Aboriginal & Islander students

4. Supervise students during activities

5. Supervise homework centre

6. Prepare light refreshments on homework days

7. Work with the Aboriginal & Islander Education Coordinator to promote Aboriginal & Islander celebration within the College

8. Liaise with staff and students between the campuses

Essential Criteria:
