Job Description
The Second Engineer is a member of the vessel’s engineering department, responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems on board. The Second Engineer oversees daily engine room operations, assists with managing maintenance schedules, and ensures all equipment functions in accordance with company standards and maritime regulations.
Note: The vessels home port is located in Kitimat, BC.What you’ll do
- Stand engine room watch, maintaining the propulsion, auxiliary, and safety equipment in accordance with the planned maintenance system.
- Performs troubleshooting and repairs of all machinery and equipment related breakdown.
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
